Course Description

Introduces information and techniques in note taking, textbook reading, taking exams, and developing a study schedule. Prerequisites: Placement into WR 90 and RD 90. Audit available.

Intended Outcomes

Upon successfully completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Create a study schedule.
  2. Apply note-taking strategies.
  3. Use effective textbook reading strategies.
  4. Utilize test‐taking strategies.

Outcome Assessment Strategies

Students will demonstrate the learning outcomes by the following tasks conducted individually and in cooperation with other students:

  1. Produce a personal study schedule.
  2. Demonstrate a note-taking method
  3. Describe a textbook reading‐study method.
  4. Demonstrate effective test taking strategies.
