CGCC has a Degree Partnership program that provides a unique opportunity for students to enroll in classes at colleges and universities throughout Oregon, while still maintaining their eligibility and enrollment at CGCC. Students will also have access to services and expertise at each school, greatly expanding their resources and options.

The Degree Partnership program makes it easier to tailor a students education plan to fit their  personal goals, preferences and timelines. Students will work with advisors from both institutions to make sure every course counts toward their degree.

Getting Started: A Two Step Process

Step #1   Complete a Degree Partnership/Co-Enrollment admissions application for your perspective school (provided above).  Some schools (OSU) allow students to apply for admissions via an online format, while others require a printed version of the application.

Because of CGCC's current accreditation agreement with Portland Community College some of our Degree Partnership documentation includes PCC's logo and program information.

Step #2   Bring the completed admissions application form, or proof of application submission, along with a check or payment information, to the CGCC Student Services office in The Dalles(Building #3) or Hood River (Indian Creek Campus).  A Student Services representative will forward your information to your school of choice.

Benefits of Degree Partnership

  • One application process for both CGCC and PSU, OSU, OIT, CU, MU, LC
  • Advising available at either institution
  • Increased flexibility in scheduling with access to more classes
  • Opportunity to access services and participate in college life on both campuses:
    • Student employment services, including work-study
    • Student internship and study abroad programs
    • Recreational facilities
    • Student health services
    • Admission at the four-year institution
    • Student prices to athletic events
    • Involvement in student activities (music, theater, art, and intramural sports)
  • Coordinated financial aid and scholarships for qualified students
  • Access to library and computer lab resources on both campuses
  • Skill-building through preparatory courses at CGCC and lower division courses at either CGCC or the four-year institution
  • Easier transition from community college to university
  • Most affordable route to your degree (You pay each school's respective tuition rate.)

Begin Your Journey at CGCC

CGCC offers a wide variety of courses at both The Dalles and Hood River campuses, as well as in online formats.  As a student works toward their bachelors degree, they will find that a community college setting will provide them with smaller class sizes, more personal attention, and lower tuition costs.  As the student begins their transition from CGCC to their four-year institution of choice, they may decide to enroll in classes at both schools. Advisors at both institutions work closely together to provide accurate information and a smooth transition between schools.
