Instructional Opportunities

 

Thank you for your interest in teaching at Columbia Gorge Community College.  Our small, rural college operates primarily with adjunct (part-time) instructors.  Adjunct faculty applications are accepted on an on-going basis, reviewed by the Director and Department Chair, and if the applicant is qualified, may become part of a pool of applicants for future openings.  For general questions regarding adjunct positions, please contact the Instructional Services Office at (541)506-6034.  For Full Time positions, click here.

Adjunct (part time) instructors must submit the following:

1) A complete faculty application (please fill in ALL sections completely)

2) A resume

3) Official or unofficial transcripts (official transcripts are required before hiring can be completed)

4) Letters of Reference (1-3 letters)

PART TIME POSITIONS:

Nursing/Health Occupations Department

P/T Nursing Assistant Theory and/or Clinical Instructor:

Collaborates with the CNA Program Director in organizing and carrying out structured learning processes for students in the CNA Program.  Responsibilities may include theory, clinical and/or skills lab as assigned by the CNA Program Director or the Director of Nursing & Health Occupations.  Participates in professional and college-related activities as directed.  Possesses and applies knowledge of professional standards and state guidelines relevant to the performance of nursing instruction.  Current, unencumbered Oregon RN License, current CPR for Healthcare Provider card.  Two years current nursing practice required for theory instruction. One year current nursing practice required for clinical/lab instruction.  Salary: $42.87/hr for theory instruction; $32.67 for clinical instruction; $20.91/hr for meeting/non-instructional time. Hours variable. P/T Medical Assisting Instructor:

Assists the Medical Assisting Program Director in the classroom, lab experience, and/or during externship experiences in the clinical setting as assigned.  Possesses and applies knowledge of professional standards and state guidelines relevant to the performance of course content. Associate degree or higher; Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA or RMA with permission); 3 years experience as a medical assistant in an ambulatory care setting.  Preference will be given to applicants with teaching experience in a medical assisting training program.  Salary: $42.87/$32.67/$20.91 per hour depending on work/teaching assigned. P/T Nursing Clinical Instructor:

Collaborates with the Nursing Program Faculty in organizing and carrying out structured learning processes for students in the Nursing Program.  Responsibilities may include clinical and/or skills lab as assigned by the Director of Nursing & Health Occupations.  Participates in professional and college-related activities as directed.  Possesses and applies knowledge of professional standards and state guidelines relevant to the performance of nursing instruction.  BSN or enrolled in a BSN preparation program; current, unencumbered Oregon RN License; current CPR for Healthcare Provider card.  Additional preferred: Current, unencumbered Washington RN license.  Two years current nursing practice required (acute care preferred).  Salary: $32.67/hr for clinical instruction and $20.91/hr for meeting/non-instructional time. Hours variable; 10-15 hours/week average each term. Full-time Biology Instructor

Columbia Gorge Community College is seeking a full-time Biological Science Instructor.  Master’s degree in Biology, Anatomy, Animal Behavior, or Animal Sciences and 2 years teaching experience at the community college or university level required.  Emphasis in Human Anatomy and Physiology, Cell biology, and Microbiology is preferred, with selected candidate being prepared to teach in these areas.  Must be student and learning centered, and demonstrate a dedication to community college instruction. The position may require travel between two campuses’ and willingness to be flexible with teaching schedules.
